Here's the very place...

Separate places for positive and negative. I have a small, pessimistic bet with myself that the latter will be longer than the former...

Thank you, thank you! Was he "yay go baby" to you or me, PHD?

AwayInAMunker · 10/12/2007 09:45

Ooh, look - I'm on the blog of the day list!

mindalina · 10/12/2007 09:54

Hunker I have left you a nice positive comment about my truly wonderful HV.

Fio That's appalling - and I agree with you, some women (well, and men) seem to go into caring professions because they are bullies and they want somewhere they can find vulnerable people They're in the minority, I'm sure of that - but if it's your misfortune to meet one...

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 10/12/2007 12:02

Fio, I had the same crap with someone trying to feed my baby apparently he was 'starvinggg' but my angelic midwife later told me sometimes cs babies don't feed a for a day or two and it isn't a problem!

Thank heavens for waterproof mascara! Hunker, I just found the breastcrawl video, it is beautiful, I want to show it to everyone I know!

A "gift of nature" indeed.

I was very content with my two beautiful babies until I watched that...broodiness strikes again!

Without being a creepy-creepy crawler, I'd like to say Hunker that your support for breastfeeding is really appreciated. You are an excellent mix of well-informed, passionate, warm and funny in your replies to breastfeeding queries and I'm sure you've helped thousands of people along the way.

Keep going, the t'interweb's a better place with you on it!

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2007 12:33

I'm linking the breastcrawl to my antenatalers
Then later I'm going to firce DP to watch it too.

AwayInAMunker · 12/12/2007 12:48

IMP! That's lovely - thank you!

(VS, can you link the blog too, please? )

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2007 12:50

Of course.
They've already been told to look for you or tiktok for bf advice.

AwayInAMunker · 12/12/2007 12:51

Tiktok's the bees knees wrt bf advice. I'm just gobby

rosmerta · 12/12/2007 14:14

I usually stay away from the bf/ff threads because of my story but I've posted it up on your website hunker. In the negative side unfortunately, but am hoping I can add one for the positive in future

AwayInAMunker · 12/12/2007 14:16

Thank you very much, Rosmerta. I will go and read it now

AwayInAMunker · 12/12/2007 14:18

It's on the site now - thank you again. I understand how painful it can be to go back over these experiences and I really do appreciate people taking the time to recount them.

hunker, it just still makes me feel so guilty for not trying harder but when you're faced with so much negativity about bf and its your first you don't really know what to do or where to go (obviously I didn't know about MN then!). But hopefully it will help someone else realise that they can bf if they find the right help!

AwayInAMunker · 12/12/2007 14:35

Yep, Hatrick, perfect! Thank you. Well, not perfect, shocking and appalling...but ykwim!

Rosmerta, it's hard learning to bf with all sorts of negative, ill-informed people around you - if you and the baby don't take to it pretty quickly, it's very likely to be impossible. I want to make it easier for women to go "Hang on, I know what I'm doing. You don't know enough to be advising me here."

sparklygothkat · 12/12/2007 20:27

have posted on the negitive (surprise surprise eh, hunker!!)

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 20:42

left a comment for you hunker

AwayInAMunker · 13/12/2007 08:43

Thank you, thank you!

fishie · 13/12/2007 08:44

i have posted my negative. have tried very very hard to think of a positive for you but the best i can do is to say that some hcps i have met have not actively tried to sabotage my bfing.

TheOldestCat · 13/12/2007 09:00

Another comment for you, hunker. Great site, by the way.

AwayInAMunker · 13/12/2007 09:05

Thank you more!

I think this bit will be one of the most valuable parts of the site - because it shows very clearly how easy it can be to support bf or sabotage bf - it's just the right choice of words in many cases. Obviously actual knowledge helps too...but being kind goes a long way!
