Antenatal colostrum expression

Hello, I'm term with DC2 and just awaiting their arrival. Have been doing some colostrum expression over the last few weeks. I can now get a fair amount very quickly with one breast but still hardly more than a few drops with the other. Interestingly I found when I was expressing breastmilk when DC1 was a baby I always got a lot more on the same side then too. Is there something about the other breast that doesn't work so well?! Will this impact breastfeeding? Is this typical?

I could never ever express a drop with DC1. The fact that you can even before baby is here is great.

How much you can express doesn't really reflect how much you are producing anyway so I really wouldn't worry Thanks

Sounds normal, I can express more from right everytime. Such a good idea I was so glad to have colostrum when baby was born!

One “better” breast is totally normal.

It's fine, a lot of women have one "s**t tit" (as I call it) 😂
I definately do, even postnatally and exclusively breastfeeding I see I huge difference when expressing from both sides!
Some women who have physical issues with one breast or even only have one breast for whatever reason, can more than successfully fully breastfeed their baby!! 😍
You'll have all the milk you need and more, even if one boob isn't quite as productive!! ☺️

It's perfectly normal. My right boob has had more milk both times.

I think that's normal. My right boob was absolutely useless really and I only fed from the left after a couple of weeks.
