Today I got shown how I BF

Sitting BFing DD2 (8weeks) and DD1 (22 months) picked up her Pocoyo toy, sat down on the floor by my feet and said
'Want Beboo Pocoyo? Okay'
Lifted her top and very carefully latched him onto her bellybutton, while saying,
'Ssssh now, there go, all better? Good girl'

And then she winded him!

Is it lack of sleep that made me well up?!

it used to make me sniff when ds did this - he'd say to his koala, 'oh dear, would you like milkies? there you are, happy now....' Then loll back on a cushion
So cute...

A few hours later I was feeding DD2 again and she was playing with her stuffed giraffe so I asked if she wanted to feed him, and she said
'No, beboo for Pocoyo.' and went and fetched him to feed him, none fo her other toys get fed!

it's fanatastic that you're raising a whole new generation who'll see breastfeeding as normal and natural. Be proud of yourselves ladies.

that came out all wrong I think. I just meant my generation rarely saw bf so was uncomfortable with it. I'll go away now as I've lost control of my language but I didn;t mean to suggest bf was in anyway abnormal.......

Oh dear,

my dd says, Oh Shakita (her name for her doll ) do you want some milk? Just give me a minute darling, sighs...

BeeWiseMen, I know what you meant! I don't think I had ever seen anyone BF until I did it myself.

Slur, I realised how much I wittered onto my 8 week old, who doesn't care what I am saying, she just wants the damn milk!

When my ds was tiny, dd (aged about 2) picked up a cushion, covered it carefully with a muslin square, picked up her doll and laid her gently on it, then looked down at her top....

....and realised she was wearing dungarees.
So she got up and went off to do something else instead.

She has fed all kinds of stuffed animals since, including an elephant and a seal.

thats cute dd bf her doll and i havent bf her since she was 6 weeks she now 18mo and she hasnt seen anyone else bf,
and the chatter is fab your baby will learn so much from you talking to her will help her speach etc when she bigger!

chirpygirl that is so lovely. My dd1 is a bit older - nearly 4 - but she likes to sit and "feed" variousdolls when I am feeding.

BeeWiseMen I understood what you meant on your first post - I started a thread yesterday about a lady who approached me (in a nice way) in a cafe.

This also reminded me of when dd1 was born and we visited a friend with 3 girls all around 10-12 years. They were incredibly interested in watching me feed, all lined up next to me. My friend offered me the chance to go upstairs (she had b/f all 5 of her children) - I stayed put as I wanted them to see that it was "normal" and fine to feed in someone's living room.
