does anyone know how long it takes your milk to dry up after long term breast feeding?

I've not bf DS for 4 days now - I've been away with work. He's 21 months, and we'd got it down to 1 feed a day at bedtime. I'm dithering over whether to knock it on the head entirely or not - DH would like me to, and I'd like to conceive again and am a bit worried that bf is making it harder. My breasts seem very 'full' still - does anyone know how long it would be before my supply dries up after such a long duration of bf?

I think it varies. For me, DD self weaned around 18m and I never really felt full or uncomfortable - perhaps as she weaned quite gradually and didn't really have one big feed in the day, such as a night time feed.
I know friends who stopped around the same time who felt full, for one it lasted several weeks and hardly any time for the other. I think the first person expressed quite a bit off and the other did a mimimum, just to take away the discomfort.
Mm so not much help I guess but possibly a case of wait and see?

thanks Racers. I always had massive oversupply - still leak occasionally, so think I may be at the longer end of that spectrum. Bother.

I fed DS1 for 14 months, my milk seemed to dry up within days, fed DS2 for 5 days (sort of)- and milk was still there months afterwards, fed DS3 exclusively for 3 weeks, then once a day until he was 4 months old, he's now 6 months and milk has definitely all gone...
