Fluconazole/Daktarin treatment for deep breast thrush - nipples now worse than ever!

I wonder if anyone has experienced the same. I have a 7 week old ebf baby and I’m being treated for deep breast thrush, with Fluconazole for me, and Daktarin for my nipples and oral treatment for DD. Feeding has always been pain-free, I’m only in pain between feeds.

Half-way through the course the deep pain is lessening, but my nipples have taken a turn for the worse! They are bright pink and it hurts when DD latches on, whereas previously latching has been pain-free.

Can the Daktarin cream have made my nipples sore? I know bright pink nipples are a sign of thrush but they weren’t pink before I started the treatment. I’ve stopped using Lansinoh as moist wound healing isn’t recommended with thrush.

Many thanks,

No experience but I'd give one of the BFing Helplines a call now @ScandiCrimeLover.

The earlier you call, the better chance you have of speaking to a BFC today Thanks
