Mastitis

Hi guys,

So I think I may have mastitis, started yesterday evening with a very engorged right breast, it's hard on one side and swollen, went to bed and woke up at 2am in so much pain that I actually woke DC up for a feed early.

Have fed off the sore boob all night but now have been woken up because I'm absolutely sweating, but shivery, have a horrific headache and feel like I've been hit by a bus. I've just gotten up to grab some ibuprofen and also noticed my breast looks a bit red.

I have my 6 week check up this afternoon at 3pm, but I don't know if this is something I should contact someone about ASAP or is it okay to leave it til my appointment? Even with DC feeding a good few times on this side its still hard and swollen and so damn painful 😫

Worth a call to the doctors. As you've got an appointment today already they might be able to jiggle it so you're seen earlier. Either that or have the prescription ready before you go in.

Thank you for your comment, that was my thinking too! That they might see me sooner or at least get me a prescription sorted, I really do feel ill! I never knew how bad mastitis could be! Thank you!

Definitely get it sorted ASAP, mine developed into an abscess that required surgery. Get it seen as soon as you can
