Has anyone downsized a teat?

Hello,

I'm looking for advice, Has anyone downsized a Teat for their Newborn babies? We were using a MAM Bottle with a Size 1 Teat and this evening I accidentally fed her with a Size 0 Teat. I noticed that she settled straight after, she didn't have any gulping sounds etc or spitting up when drinking it and no milk coming up after, I'm now starting to feel like a bad parent, thinking I have caused all these tears, grunting and possible reflux by using the wrong Teat!

We went back to size 1 from 2 to slow feed down again for the same reason.

If 0 is working better for your baby just stick with it. You are not a bad parent.

Thank you very much hun

It's only happened tonight
I just found she was much more peaceful drinking it and she was snoring whilst lying on my chest straight after winding

Nothing wrong with switching teats to suit the needs of your baby, it won’t cause any harm to go down a size. I’ve kept both of mine on size 0 teats up until the point that they got rid of their bottles at around 13/14 months.

You don't need to feel guilty, we all make lots of parenting mistakes over the years Smile
You've noticed which means you're paying attention to your baby. Great idea to switch teats now if you think she's happier.

Thanks all for your advice. I just hope I'm doing the right thing
She seems to take it down better and gulp a lot less
