7 DAY OLD BABY FEEDING TOO LONG?

My new ds is taking up to 45 mins a breast to feed and i am knackered... feels like no break in between feeding and starting again. should i take him off the breast after say 30 minutes or not? help... not quite sure what to do

Mouse, there is no way that timing feeds gives any indication of volume taken - some babies take what they need in X minutes, some in Y minutes and some in X plus Y minutes, and many change day by day or from feed to feed.

You don't look at the clock, but at the baby, and in the case of a newborn, the baby's nappies...if he is pooing several times a day and ditto weeing, and thriving, then it really doesn't matter how long he is on the breast for at any one time.

And I bet you knew that, really!
