Hipp and constipation

Hi,
We recently changed formula for our little one from SMA to Hipp after reading many positive feedback about the latter. Our LO previously suffers pretty bad reflux. Now it's been almost a week on the new formula. Reflux situation is greatly improved, but I noticed his poo became dry - like a paste rather than the mustard watery seedy before. He is also more often crying, straining, turning red when passing wind or pooping.

Does anyone else also experience this? Is it indeed Hipp causing this?

If he's crying when he's trying to poo that's not good.

If he's had reflux and now has constipation, are you sure he's not got CMPA?

I don't think that's CMPA. His reflux was more due to tongue tie, which makes him guzzle a lot of air when feeding, and he got a lot better after having the procedure. And his not constipated on Hipp's ready-to-feed liquid formula, only on Hipp's powder formula. Hmm

We’re on HiPP and have noticed constipation it’s like play dough.

We’ve been giving cooked boiled water i between which has helped, cycling legs and meassage. If I doesn’t improve I may switch to comfort milk

We had this on HiPP. Such a shame as our older daughter thrived on it, but they’ve changed the recipe since then. Switched to Kendamil and no issues.

All formulas are made to the same standard of nutrients etc, but there are small variations - e.g. some contain palm oil and fish oil, some are made with skimmed milk and some full cream.
