Hipp Organic - thoughts?

Hi,

My baby girl is currently on Kendamil first infant milk. She currently has very watery dark green poos (I’ve read the green poo is fine but I just don’t think it should be as watery as it is). She usually goes a couple of days without pooing and then when she does it will be a lot, very runny and dark green. Is it normal for it to be runny? She’s been putting on weight well.

Whilst feeding she can sometimes seem unsettled and arch her back etc. She also spits up a lot after feeds and does occasionally vomit too. I was wondering if this was caused by reflux.

I was thinking of trying her on Hipp Organic (she didn’t get on with Aptamil which is why we changed to Kendamil). Does anyone have any experiences to share with Hipp? I read a few threads about the recipe changing due to the new guidelines and it not being as good?

My DD and my DNephew have both been fed on Hipp and have thrived on it. I switched to Hipp from Aptimil for DD as it was upsetting her stomach. You could always get a couple of pre-made bottles of it just to try, before buying a whole box? Hope it works for you! Xx

I've had a very similar experience.

My DD has also been on Kendamil (Organic version) since 1 month old (now 7 months old) and I've experienced exactly the same regarding her poos and being unsettle and vomiting / sickness.

Her poos have now gotten better since weaning (6 months) but her being unsettled and being sick / reflux is still there. I've read quite a few posts on the Kendamil Facebook group of babies being sick a lot on Kendamil which is interesting.

We decided to stick with Kendamil early on as we thought it was just reflux and didn't want to keep changing formula but I've been very close to switching a number of times since and I'm again currently thinking of switching to see if it is the Kendamil causing the issues.

If you do end up switching formula please keep this thread updated with the outcome.

Can’t comment on comparison to Kendamil but my boy has been on hipp for months after switching from cow and gate. He’s been doing great on it, he seems to enjoy it and no upsets. Less foamy than c&g too.
One downside, the bags/box it comes in is so bloody annoying. So if kendamil comes in a good tub, keep it and put your hipp powder in it!

Thanks!
@Ann767 were trying out Hipp now so will keep this thread updated!

@Dashdotcom oh yes we ended up buying a box of the powder as the premade bottles were working out expensive and I couldn’t believe how awful the packaging for Hipp is Shock I’ve put it in an older Kendamil tub!

@Ann767 quick update, it’s been just over a week since we switched to Hipp. DD’s poo is now much better (no more green, runny mess) and she poos more often now too and doesn’t seem in as much pain with straining.

Sickness and spit up are still present though. I actually think she spits up slightly more on this than the Kendamil but overall she seems better on Hipp.

Going to keep going with it before making a final decision!

Hipp sell a milk storage tub on their website if that helps anyone. It has a really handy scoop clip on the lid so you're not fishing a scoop out of a pile of powder.

Hey! I’m wondering if you have any update on how your little one got on with HIPP? We are the exact same situation as you. Went from aptamil to kendamil and my boy just isn’t very settled, pooing after literally every bottle I just think it’s a bit rich for his wee tummy. How did you get on with HIPP?

Frazzled2207 · 21/08/2022 19:45

my ds2 had HIPP and was fine. The box was annoying though so used to put it in the aptamil box. My first ds had aptamil as did my ds2 initially cannot recall why we switched but it was all fine in the end.
