I would be interested to hear any good 'answer backs' to some of the irritating and inane comments about BF ( see other thread about comments made)...maybe even ones that educate!

Hi Vis, great minds think alike, see this thread but lets get more going so we've a full arsenal!

This may sound a bit Pollyanna, but I think the best retort is to be enthusiastic and confident about your choices, rather than being on the defensive or attacking back. So for instance if someone says "What? Are you still feeding that baby?" just say something like "Yes, isn't it wonderful? it works so well for us and I know it is helping dd to be healthy and happy. We both enjoy it - I can't imagine us stopping any time yet!"

Unless people see happy breastfeeding mothers who are proud about their feeding choice, they are not likely to change their opinions about bfing.

I remember ansering something like 'she's so happy and healthy bfing' and the woman who asked me got very defensive, saying that both of her children were happy and healthy and were bottle feed. Sometimes, you just can't avoid annoying people, because they have a problem with bfing.

Turn to someone and say " Thta how they turn out when you don't Breastfeed"
