Evening everyone,

My LO is 6 months on 1st Sept. We have no HV visits nor groups etc.

I weigh her at home and I weighed her today and she's not lost any weight, but she's not gained any weight in 4 weeks 😔

In fact looking at her red book she's only gained a small amount maybe like 3 pounds since she was 4 months old 😱😱😱😱😱

I always offer her milk when she wants it 🤷🏼‍♀️ and started given some purees once a day.

Shes still sitting on 91st centile. Born on the border of 98th.....

Is this something to worry about?

Thinking about your 2 Yr old. My friends 2 year old is almost the same size as my LO in height only about 4 inches different 😂 😂

The scientist in me would query the weight recorded at 4 months as a possible anomaly. There is a big jump up there and if it were recorded wrong (happens - I’ve had HCP plot my baby’s weight wrong before) then that might explain your issue.

The other explanation is that the recorded weights are correct, and she had a massive growth spurt between 3-4 months and is just levelling out. Baby (and child) growth is not linear, so spurts and then shallow growth is not uncommon.

Do speak with a HCP so that they know, but might not be the disaster you currently feel it is.

If she drops way below her curve then call the GP. You said yourself , she has chubby cheeks!!! As long as she looks good and develops well, you're fine Wink

CourtneyCox2021 · 23/08/2021 08:07

She is only have tastes of food - I remember the saying food is fun till 1 and that's what I stick too. If she shows interest she has a taste and hasn't effected her feeding of milk. It's been the same.

I think a lot of mums feeling unsupported during lockdown babies. I seen so many in shops and they all find the same, not sure complaining/discussing it would make a difference as they blame it on Covid x x

That growth is fine. She's maintaining her birth centile so I wouldn't worry. Health visitors only universally see babies at new birth then 6 weeks as advised in the healthy child programme. They may very busy to respond to texts to I would ring their main number and ask to speak to the duty health visitor

@CourtneyCox2021 you're right! Last time DD was seen she was 2 months old, she's 10mo now!!!

She's no3 Grin but she is the littlest and not taking to food very well. But she is a happy baby and she's developing well, that's what matters Smile

With the 1st one you go to the doctors for every bump, with the 3rd.... well..... you're more clued up, I already know what they're going to say

CourtneyCox2021 · 23/08/2021 08:25

The 4 month plotting - it has two plottings. The top one is wrong - call it my sleep deprived brain. I have recorded the last 2 plottings myself as its easier to see and track in there.

I will drop a call to Dr's tomorrow as its hell getting through on a Monday.

I was thinking that chubby cheeks fat rings etc she be screaming if she was hungry and she's a happy soul

Exactly @grey12. Nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️ it makes me sad as I bet so much is getting missed. Yes you are right this is my 1st biological LO so may be a bit more OTT

@sunrae28 I know they must be busy., but I know she's seen the message. A quick message to say it's all fine don't worry doesn't take long. Don't get me wrong I work for the NHS (I worked ED, theatres, on wards etc) I understand the pressure but you make the time to do it. Sounds harsh, but I understand x

Thank you 😁

Haha don't worry I'm sure it's my teeny 2yo who is the anomaly 😂 she's between 2nd and 9th centile lines. Her wee brother is 19m younger and is 99th centile, he's going to have overtaken her in weight by his first birthday 😅 who knows how I produced 2 such different children! I used to worry about my daughter and her size/weight a lot but the two of them have been fed the same and come out so different, just shows that they are their own person from day one!
