Hand expressing, good thing?? Probably silly question...

I have been struggling to get ds to accept ebm in a bottle for a while. He finally took one last night from m-in-l which is a major breakthrough!! I had been expressing with an electric pump, but it took ages and was painful. Remembering what a friend had said i expressed by hand directly into one of those avent pots and bingo! Easy, painless, quick and loads of milk!!
Now, is mauling my boobs in this rather interesting way going to have any effect on breastfeeding? Is there a reason why people use pumps rather than hand expressing? Is it a bad thing to do or can i happily continue this way.
Advice much appreciated.

i dont think it matters but it would have to be a bf counsellor to tell you properly i think
