DS 8mths vomiting & can't keep anything down - should I BF or give water?

I know you're normally meant to avoid dairy, but should I keep breastfeeding DS? He was sick loads during the night and refused breastmilk and water.

He seemed better this morning so bf him then he slept for a while. He had quite a lot of water when he woke, then threw it all back up. Should I feed him or leave him for a while (was sick about 40mins ago)? Worried he's getting dehydrated

bf him - that's the best fluid, it will also help keep his electrolites in balance.

Does he still have wet nappies as normal?

breast milk far better for him than just water - as well as nutrition he'll get your antibodies to help him get well faster.

oh and I'd bf him as often as he wants it - little and often is probably more likely to stay down. At least that seems to be what works for DS.

does he have a temperature? if so, he may be sweating and losing more fluids that way. Try and keep his temperature down.

Have just give him a little bf and he's gone back to sleep, so we'll see...

No temp, did have wet nappy mid morning but it was dry 1st thing (from overnight)

I hate all these bugs - this is his 3rd vomiting bug and he's still recovering from the chesty cough/temperature one

Dd and ds2 both had d&v bugs at about this age, and I found that they kept bm down better than water.
