does anyone else have feeding moments like these: when it's all been going so well (feeding regularly so I pretty much know when he fusses after 3 hours I know he's hungry) and then I simply cannot read the signals any more and he ends up not feeding when he usually does, fusses, snacks every hour, or sucks but screams because I've been trying to feed him when he doesn't actually want it.

Been trying not to let him get to full screaming to tell whether he's hungry or not but I've no idea today!

yes yes meeeeeeeeeeeee!

can't help you i'm afraid as i have no clue what i'm doing but i have had a few days like that recently. DD2 is 8 weeks- how old is your DS?

IwansMam · 29/11/2007 13:00

Me too! But most days I'm clueless with a rare 'wow, today is good'. And DS is 5 months . Middle of the night I tend to get it right .

13-14 weeks I think (3rd baby so less, er, vigilant!) He's finally had a bit more milk - he was screaming without it and screaming with it! I managed to get it into him and off to sleep (and hopefully he'll get back into his stride now) with my evil magic trick of... the vacuum cleaner! I'd forgotten that we used it with DS1's endless screaming - dunno why but it calms them down instantly...

hi there, I could have written that first post monkeybird! DD is 9 weeks today and thought I had her sussed out on a 3 hour cycle then yesterday and today she has been screaming incosolably (sp?)a couple of times a day appx 1.5 -2hrs after her last feed and only another feed will sort her out! I hope it doesn't last for long it is very tiring, I don't know if she wants to sleep, eat, or be awake now we are all over the place!!

DS is 5 months and we have had a day like yours. He is still half feeding. 2 sucks and then cries .. now and has been like this all day but grizzly so keep thinking maybe he's hungry and offering him boob but that just makes him scream. Now I have red blotches so heading for mastisis if I don't get red of the blockage. Honestly, sometimes I feel ready to give up...
