Starting to mix feed at 9 months

I want to start mix feeding my 9 month old. I think I would rather use a cup than a bottle… I want to do the one before bed, but am I better to give a ff first thing in the morning for a few days to get him used to it? And how many oz should I give? Finding info online quite conflicting

Has he ever had formula and why do you want to mix feed.

I combi fed and hated it, so do bare that in mind with what I say.

At this age if you want to drop feeds concentrate on getting solids really established and you can replace one feed with a snack and water. Also you can reduce to just morning and night feeds as baby regulates what they take and can take all they need in 2 feeds.

I night weaned at this age too using controlled crying. It meant for both mine I really was down to a couple of feeds a day.

I gave formula in the day but mostly because it made my son sick and I didn't want to clear that up in the middle of the night. If baby has not had a bottle before I wouldn't do it before bed.
