Nursing clothes

Can anyone recommend somewhere for reasonably prices nursing clothes?

I’m really struggling as I have put on a ridiculous amount of weight in pregnancy and now I’m breastfeeding and it’s summer so finding clothes that don’t look awful is a real struggle.

I’m 5ft6 and 75kg. Most of the weight gain is tummy and thighs. My upper arms aren’t great either. Some recommendations of shops which sell clothes which are suitable for nursing and which will cover up fat rolls would be most appreciated!

H&M do some good nursing tops but to be honest I preferred to wear two tops - t-shirt to lift up, then strappy vest that pulls down. What about a loose shirt with strappy vest underneath?

I've also been struggling to find nursing outfits. H&M do great ones for every day (free delivery and returns if you're a member and they're reasonably priced). I've also picked up a couple of bits from Seraphine in the sales... Whilst they definitely aren't at the cheaper end the quality and fit is amazing so I figured it was worth picking up a couple of bits for when out and about with bubba and wanting to feel more like "me" and less like someone in frumpy mat wear if that makes sense?

I didn't have any specific nursing clothes, I just bought a load of cheap black vest tops from Primark/H&M and wore layers - then pulled the top layer up and the vest top down.

H&M and ebay for seraphine and Jojo mama bebe (or second hand h amd m.. some people do bundles I have lots of ebay purchases)

I definitely find specific nursing clothes easier.

I wear dresses, which are comfortable and forgiving shape/size wise

I got a few from Amazon - nothing brilliant in terms of quality but did the job. The ones in the link below were my favourite - they cover your bum so can wear with leggings. I carried on wearing these when I stopped feeding they were so comfy!

How old is your baby / how many times are you breastfeeding? Similar position in terms of same weight gain / height!

I bought a couple of strapped smock ish dresses from H&M (I think they are about £17) and easy to feed over the top and they somewhat disguise tummy etc. Still not able to fit in any of my old summer clothes and baby is 6 months!

ASOS have loads of specific nursing ones. I’d recommend the Facebook group Can I Breastfeed In It UK. You’ll be able to scroll through and see literally hundreds of ideas.

Two tops. Vest helped hold my belly in, normal top on top.

Juno Jacks do lovely breastfeeding clothes!

shouldistop · 08/07/2021 20:32

I usually wear button up dresses and just stick a scarf over the top of my chest.

Or wrap dresses

Thanks everyone. The baby is 4 weeks old now and I feel like I’m feeding him constantly! I used to do the two tops thing with my other kids but this time round I just feel boiling and sweaty the whole time so wanted to reduce my layers!
