Pregnant and breastfeeding

I am 5 weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding my 17 month old. She is very attached to the boobs but it is so painful everytime she latches on. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for this? I've been trying to get her to open her mouth wide before latching on and that does help a little.

I found it very painful when pregnant as my milk dried up so I had to wean him off when I was around 5 months. He was 3 at that point though. Maybe buy some lasinoh & try to limit how long you feed for, if you want to continue? I wish I would have persevered to be honest as he did cry, but it was so so painful.

Hello OP, I'm BF my 18 month old and am 12 weeks pregnant. I also find the initial latch painful but it settles quite quickly now. I've heard taking magnesium helps with aversion ( both physically and mentally ) as does going back to using nipple cream!

Thank you both for your responses! And congrats to both of you for breastfeeding for so long. It isn't always easy! I will try the lasinoh and as you said try to limit the amount of time spend breastfeeding. Thankfully she has naturally cut down during the day
