Toddler nursing strike causing sleepless nights

My LB is 15mths old and suddenly stopped feeding from me yesterday afternoon. Up until then he was feeding regularly both day and night. He contact naps and normally feeds to sleep. The nursing strike is causing chaos with his naps and sleep. He is asking for ‘boobie’ however won’t latch on and then becomes increasingly frustrated. This goes on until he eventually falls asleep. However he is only sleeping 10-15mins and then the cycle repeats itself. This happened during the night too. He won’t let me cuddle him instead and it’s heart breaking 😥 I’m happy for him to self wean if that’s what he wants but how do I help him settle to sleep better? We are both exhausted 😥

Hi OP. That sounds tough. I would be wanting to get to the bottom of such a sudden breast refusal. Especially if he's still asking for it. Could something be hurting in his mouth... A stubborn tooth perhaps? Could he be sickening for something that is making his glands swell and hurt to swallow? Have you tried taking his temperature? X

Is he teething or unwell? Sore throat maybe?

Ds2 did the same a couple of times when he was teething (it wasn't otherwise obvious). Have you tried giving some Calpol?
