Never heard of them. What are they?

YellowSun567 · 05/07/2021 19:06

They're these new cookies which are meant to increase milk supply. They're quite expensive! Sold in ASDA

They got very short shrift when there was a Mumsnet request for testers. The thread is herewww.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_product_tests/4213934-Are-you-currently-breastfeeding-Sign-up-to-test-Munchkin-s-Milkmakers-Oatmeal-Chocolate-Chip-Breastfeeding-Cookie-Bites

Yep I tested them for mumsnet. They were nice but cost a fortune and do nothing whatsoever for your milk supply. That was basically what everyone who tested them thought.

mrsmonkey14 · 05/07/2021 19:13

When I was BFing a newborn I had Boobbix biscuits (think that’s how it’s spelt) and I definitely felt they increased my milk supply - might be worth a look.

HobnobbingAboutHobnobs · 05/07/2021 19:24

I just ate lots of porridge and flapjacks!

HarrietM87 · 05/07/2021 19:51

The dose of fennel recommended by lactation consultants for increasing milk supply is 12 tablets (the usual dose is 2/day), so no cookie with a sprinkling of fennel is ever going to cut it.

ShinyGreenElephant · 05/07/2021 19:53

I tested them, they were alright but didn't notice any difference in supply. I'm tandem feeding though so I've always got loads of milk

Thank you for the link above! Looks like a lot of people think this is just another money maker!

I took the plunge and bought some as I was intrigued to see if they may work (eek £17.50!!)
There are 10 packets in the box so I presume it's 1 packet per day. The first time I ate a packet I put my pump in about 15 minutes later and oh my god my boob was SPURTING MILK!! I literally had to put my hand over my nipple to stop it spraying all over the floor. Like a string of milk flowing out of my nipple at quite a rate. Bit of a shock as that had never happened before so I presumed it was the biscuits! Then the next day I ate a packet nothing happened. No fountain of milk and I don't think there was any difference in my milk supply. I'll carry on eating 1 packet a day and see what happens.

The other thing I've noticed is they leave a slight bitter taste at the back of the throat

Lol are you working for them OP? They won’t increase your milk supply. It’s not possible for the small amounts of the ingredients in the cookies to have any effect whatsoever. If you don’t believe me, then see the many posters on the thread who confirmed it. £17.50 for a pack of biscuits that do f*ck all is a joke. If you’re not being paid to market these but are in fact handing over your own money then you are being exploited.

YellowSun567 · 06/07/2021 13:50

Haha I am not working for them! It could have just been coincidence that I had that experience of the milk spurting from my boob. In all fairness I have just started double pumping with my elvies that day so could have been something to do with that (I'd been pumping with a single Elvie before then).
Had another packet today and had no difference in my milk supply at all.
