8 week old breast- feeding constantly- growth spurt?

That's my question, in a nutshell... my DD2 is demanding the boob at least once an hour, only drinking a short while, fussing and crying in between... the feeds are all running together and my house is knee deep in cr*p as i am pinned to this chair with her (thank god for MN!) She is also particularly grumpy atm, i suspect with lower tummy pains.

Does this sound like a growth spurt? Can't decide if I should go with her demands or try to space the feeds so she gets a good bellyful. Also don't know if she is using me for comfort (won't take a dummy most of the time) and if i am contributing to the tummy pain (if it is there) by thrusting my boob in her face constantly. Any advice please ?

Yes, it does. More info here:

DS was always really grumpy at growth spurt time and it lasted about a week rather than the few days you read about elsewhere.

I wouldn't try spacing feeds at this age, just feed on demand and rest as much as possible

Sounds like a growth spurt.

Put the kettle and a packet of biscuits by your chair and resign yourself to it. It's easier than worrying about it!
