6m old taking less milk

My 6m old for the past few weeks has been such an awkward feeder! I actually dread bottle time at the moment.

Sometimes he will drink a 7oz no problem and other times its hard get any milk into him.

It worries me sometimes as he pisses about with his bottle before he goes bed (only drank 2oz tonight😡) and sleeps straight through so you think he would be starving in the morning but noooo he will only take 2-4oz. So within a 12 hour period he would have only drank 4-6oz.

Then throughout the day its touch and go, he can sometimes go 4/5 hours without milk and then still only drink 4oz, then other times it will be 3 hours on the dot and have 7oz but cry for more (doesnt happen often though!)

I think tomorrow i will start to write his milk intake down and see if im just being paranoid.

But... for now has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Also, we only started weaning 3 days ago so weaning isn't the issue.

I remember mine started drinking less milk around that age. They had it on cereal but were not keen on a drink of milk, much preferred a glass of water. They were eating little meals though and both loved cheese (still do). They grew in to drinks of milk later on.

I just thought it was normal! D'oh.

@Maggiesfarm i think it is normal im just a worrier🙈! Like today he drank 7oz at 7am, 4oz at 10am and then wouldn't even touch a bottle at 1pm but just had 7oz again now x

His intake today is OK, at his age he should be on 500-600mls a day.

@bloodywhitecat thats good to hear 😊 hes had 710ml so far today. He just cried for a bottle but only drank 2oz so hoping he drinks all his last bottle at 10pm. Just gonna keep a record of his intake for 7 days to put myself at ease
