Feeling ill

Does anyone know if it is normal to feel ill when your baby starts reducing the amount they feed? DD is now feeding less often (at last!) and I thought I would feel better as BFing has made me a bit constipated. Instead, I feel very nauseas quite dizzy. I don't think that I'm ill. I'm suspicious that it may be because DD sometimes wants certain feeds and at other times is happy to do without. I was hoping that when DD got to six months and started being weaned, I would feel better.

Are you drinking enough? Breast feeding is thirsty work and you are working hard. try upping your fluid intake by a litre a day water and see if it helps. Your poo may be hard cos your body is trying to conserve water.

I drink absolutely tonnes of water. I've always found that my hormones affect my bowels even before I was pregnant. BFing has had an awful affect on my tummy and that's why I thought I would feel better once hormone levels dropped with feeding levels dropping.

Ask your midwife or HV or try La Leche league. LL were great at helping me breastfeed twins. They are on the web and are just for breastfeeding info. I think they have a helpline for advice.
