Wanting to introduce a bottle at 12 months

My baby is almost 12 months and I'm looking to gradually cut down breastfeeding so I can stop . So ideally by 14 months maximum. However he won't drink a bottle of cows milk. He seems to like oats milk but won't drink it out of a bottle but will drink it out of a cup. Now I know I shouldn't be Introducing a bottle at 12 months but I'm trying to replace My boob . He comfort feeds alot , he's not even interested expressed milk, he just comfort feeds when he's teething or wants to sleep now I feel like once I stop breastfeeding and he won't take a bottle or dummy I'm not sure how I'd be able to comfort him. Im feeling really guilty for not introducing a bottle sooner . Any advice anyone

Don’t bother with a bottle, go straight to a sippy cup for milk and water. I’ve done this 3 times with no issue at 12 months but water only in bed.

My DD wouldn’t take a bottle so i found a sippy cup with a slightly softer spout and gave her that.

Straight to a cup op

If it’s for comfort you might be better off preserving with a dummy. Have you tried a few different kinds? Tommee Tippee do some that are quite nippley.

*persevering not preserving

@jemimaTiggywinkle he used to take a dummy since birth but he self weaned from it at 6 months . I tried after that to offer it a few times but he didn't want it . He took both Tommie tippee and mam dummy

Thanks for the responses . He already drinks water out of a sippy cup but he doesn't seem to like drinking milk out of it but I'll keep trying and won't bother with a bottle

Don't bother with a bottle. Sippy cups all the way now.

My DD hated dummies but does suck her thumb. When she weaned herself from breastfeeding she moved to her thumb and hair as comfort items.
