Sorry this is a long one!
My little boy is 4 months old, we've had an array of feeding issues since he was born and he was eventually diagnosed with a rare condition which means his brain doesn't send the signals to his hormones to work. He doesn't cope with illnesses well and needs extra medication.
Anyway, I feed him through expressed breast milk but in April I introduced some formula to his diet which he reacted to by vomiting, diarrhea. This happened on two occasions and they suspect he has cows milk allergy. I made the decision to cut out cows milk from my diet but wasn't advised to do so, it made a big difference and his feeding improved. He was also prescribed Nutramigen formula which makes up around 20% of his diet.
I noticed around a week or so ago that his stools have been foul smelling with mucus. I spoke to the GP who said she doesn't see any concerns as he's fine in himself, I was also advised not to bother cutting out cows milk from my diet. Since this advice I have been more relaxed.
The past two nights he has been waking by squirming and grunting, last night he wouldn't lie flat. His tummy is making all kinds of noises and his stools/ gas smell awful. I feel awful because I believe it's my milk that has caused him to be uncomfortable and I'm due to speak to the GP tomorrow. I've decided to give him more Nutramigen as I worry my milk is causing this.
Any advice appreciated!!
