Advice please- daytimes being ruined by 8 week old feeding issue

DD 8 weeks has been exclusively FF from 3 weeks. She has got into a pattern over the past couple of weeks of not finishing her bottle, then screaming blue murder less than 2 hours later, rinse and repeat. All day.

She sleeps pretty well at night which I am very thankful for. However this issue is driving me insane. She never gets a decent nap so is crying, grumpy and grizzly all day, and I can’t do anything because the gap between feeds, changes, getting ready to go out and her going beserk is getting shorter abs shorter. I have a toddler and busy life with other dependents so can’t just stay in. I’d be happy to really knuckle down with this issue though if it means a few days staying home to improve the routine.

She’s already on infant gaviscon for reflux, plus following all the usual advice - doesn’t seem to make a big difference but she hasn’t got it really badly.

Please don’t comment if you believe I should just go with it as I really can’t, from a practical perspective.

Stupid question so forgive me but have you checked the size teat she has on her bottle. I had the same issue with my boy and HV realised that he was having to work so hard to suck that he was wearing himself out and not completing a feed and waking every 2 hours because he was hungry. Once we changed the teat it was a minor miracle and he then went 4 hours between feeds. Just a though and please forgive me if you have already thought of this. Xxx

Agree with PPs - try a faster teat or different bottle. My DD was doing this, tried a faster teat (took her a few feeds to get used to it) and she went from drinking only 2-3oz to 6oz. She also had reflux and was on infant gaviscon.

Babies funnies are tiny and need feeding every two hours. This is true of bf and ff babies. The idea that for babies are more full up simply isn’t true. You just have to feed her when she’s hungry, that’s babies!

Tummies not funnies

I would suspect early signs of bottle aversion if
a) she guzzles the full bottle easily at night and first thing
b) she is refusing to drink sometimes
c) she is expected to drink certain amounts at certain times rather than being fed on demand

8 weeks is the typical onset age too x

My ds has only just started to have 120-150 ml feeds and he’s nearly six months. He just can’t manage more.

It shouldn't take 30mins to feed a bottle of formula, definitely try a differwnt t3et size and make sure no distractions.

My dd used to take no more than 10minutes max to drink a bottle, normally it was about 4 or 5 minutes.

Oh and 150ml bottles seems huge for that age! Is that definitely correct? Especially if baby is feeding 12 times a day-ish, surely bottles should be smaller as there qre more feeds?
