During the next week the Government is finalising legislation to regulate the marketing of formula to protect babies fed whether by breast or formula milks.
Health professional bodies, mother support groups, UN representatives, the Department of Health's Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition and the coordinating body for Trading Standards Officers are all calling for the Government to implement the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent, relevant World Health Assembly Resolutions.
