A Blog about a teen's baby being removed from her care when the baby was exclusively breastfed.

It's not for me to comment on why the baby was removed but it seems from reading the comments that the baby was not in immediate danger and the grandmother is supporting the baby's mum, unfortunately having made an error of judgement...

When I think of the number of times I, and other friends, have made joking comments about Social Services when having a bad day....

Anyhow, I'm sure there are wonderful Social Services Workers out there struggling to work in a system of beaurocracy and protocols, we must lobby our politicians to improve the laws.

Dear God Klaw- that is JUST the sort of nightmare scenario that we hope should never happen anyway- far less on the streets of GB.

It is this sort of heavy handed action that is being highlighted in the Fran Lyon Case on the on another thread. The Family Courts have way too much power as do some branches of the SS..or at least they seem to think they are above the law.

Keep us posted as to developments won't you?

What amkes me angry is that children that I have known who should be removed from their parents care are left in the most horrendous circumstances .
If this mum wasnt for some reason coping why didnt they offer her and the baby supervised residential care so that both parties could see what the real problems were (if there were any.The detriment caused to this baby by social services is probably far worse than what she was recieving at home.

Thanks for posting that Morocco, have just been through it all...

Some very good points made and We'll just have to wait and see if we ever to get to know the truth about it all.

All i can think of is if it had happened to me, how distraught would I be?
