Hi there, I’ve searched endlessly for more advice on my babies little tummy issues.
She is 2 weeks old today and has had little tummy issues from the beginning. She has been crying/fussing mostly from 12-7am with what seems to be colic. She brings her legs up to her wait, arches her back, clenches her fists and goes red in the face and just won’t settle unless we hold her upright. Every time we put her down she goes nuts and she’s too young for that to be a behavioural thing. She also sucks her mam colic dummy so hard for comfort and every-time she nods off the pain seems to waken her right back up again. She sleeps more through the day out of exhaustion and her mild jaundice. I stopped her gaviscon as she was very constipated with that. The comfort milk is thicker anyway and she hasn’t thrown up since starting that a few days ago. I can’t use gripe water till 4 weeks and I use Infacol before every feed. I’m giving her regular baths and I’m making up her mam bottles (teat 2) fresh every time luke warm. She’s pooing/peeing regularly and her weight is good. Winding her is really hard during/after feeds but she seems to be farting more because of this new milk which is good. I give her plenty of cuddles and try to comfort her as much as I can.
What else can I do to help her? Any advice is appreciated. I feel so bad for her as I can see she’s really sore. I feel so useless.
