Sterilising Elvie pump

louise265 · 07/05/2021 14:55

I read on some reviews that part of the Elvie pump can be damaged by high temperature steam sterilisation. I just wondered if any of you have the pump and how you sterilise it? Is it ok in a Tommy Tippee steriliser or in Dr Brown sterilisation bags?
Thanks Smile

I don't have one but if it doesn't agree with heat just use a cold water steriliser (aka a bucket of Milton)

Yeah I had 3 different breastplates and valves warp and so there were leaks or poor collections. Im confident now it was through using a steam steriliser or microwave steriliser, so finally accepted defeat and used cold water tablets/Milton. Feels like more of a faff but probably actually isn't. Never had an issue again after that.
