You'd think by 16 weeks I'd be done with poo questions ...

... but no such luck!

DS has reached the 'sod this feeding malarkey, I'm off for a gawp around' stage, so has been feeding much less frequently (every 3-4 hours in the day, pretty much nonstop at night though). Hence less poo. But the last couple of nights we've been back to windy spasms and straining. Then today the poo came - out over the top of the nappy and down the legs too. But it wasn't as watery and seedy as usual - it was more like gloopy paste, and good god there was gallons of it, a veritable river (no sweetcorn ).

Normal, yes?

Also, smelled sour :wrinkles nose:, but still nice and orange. No change to my diet.

Very normal {smile}

ooh - can imagine it going everywhere. No expert myself but sounds normal? My DD is 10wks - feeding every 4-5 hrs during day and doing 2-ish poos a day - but she also gets 'The Grunts' (windy straining) about 3.30am - nice. If she gets a decent fart out she will settle herself and then go back to sleep.... Maybe he just needed 'unpopping' a bit!

Normal. Normal. Normal.
Sloppy poo. normal
Mustardy poo. normal.
greeny poo. normal (just whooshed though body a bit quick, fine so long as not all the time)

white or dry poo - not so great, would look into that one (tho not literally, who am I kidding course I would!)

Also normal is no poo for days and days (for bf babes)
And I don't think you ever stop discussing your child's poo, though possibly less publically as they hit teenage years

Have you had a go at baby massage? SOme of the ab strokes are pretty good for moving things along

ChubbyScotsBurd · 14/11/2007 16:38

Oh yes, we do the massage. Only while wearing protective clothing mind you .

Good to know his toilet habits are OK (was wondering if maybe he's just a bit advanced, you know, G&T ...? )

Cheers folks.
