4 month old breastfeeding problems

My 4 month old DD has become quite a snacky feeder and also (possibly related) developed quite an annoying habit. During a feed she has started frequently turning her head away - spitting out my nipple and kind of rubbing it against her cheek. I wondered if it means she's full but she often wants to relatch and cries if I take her away from the breast. Any ideas what could be causing this? It's driving me a bit mad now.

Sounds pretty normal 4 year old behaviour however you feed your baby. They just get nosey and distracted at this age.

If it's bothering you, try reducing distractions and maybe try some breast compressions when she's latched?

My 5mo mucks around too. I think it's just what they do at this stage. He often pulls off just to smile or laugh at me too.

My 2 months does exactly that as well, he'll also wriggle, try to relatch only to unlatch seconds later. I've found gently patting him on the bum calms him down, and sorts of 'anchors' him then he tends to stay on the breast a bit longer
