Breastfeeding and nipple changes

Hi,

I’ve recently started breastfeeding my second child and with the constant breastfeeding have noticed a slight change in the shape of my nipple. It’s not inverted by any means it’s just got a dent in it so it’s not a perfect round like it used to be.. is this normal? I do vaguely remember getting nipple damage (cracks/fissure) with my first on that nipple but can’t confirm it’s a scar cuz there’s no obv change in colour.

Thanks for all your help

Did you ever investigate this? I've got a dent at top of my areola and I'm really scared. My nipple that side has never been quite the same as the other one since breastfeeding - I had a lump in my armpit checked when I fed our 3rd which is a couple of years ago now and it was nothing but the lump is still there. I've got a blocked duct so I don't know if this is making the dent look worse. I've got antibiotics so I am hoping they help the blocked duct but my mind is spiralling about the dent. Hope yours turned out to be nothing. X
