Sterilising

Hi...I'm due my first baby in Sept and about to start a list of items I will need to buy. I have been thinking about sterilising products for the bottles, soothers, etc
I have always thought to get a microwave steam steriliser and then yesterday I had a chat with a friend who had her baby last year and she mentioned cold water sterilising. I have just been reading about that and found the Milton sterilising bucket where you add the Milton tablet or Milton liquid. The reviews for this sound really good and it sounds so simple and easy to use and it states this is what they use on maternity units? Does anyone else recommend this? Also...if choosing this option you would not need to buy any other sterilising product? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

I had a steam steriliser (a Tommee tippee one) to begin with and hated it! I switched to the Milton tank and it’s so much more convenient and easy to use.

We had a cold water sterilising bucket. The only thing is you might want a little microwave steam steriliser as well in case you need things in a hurry e.g. baby's dummy gets dropped but he needs it back right now, you don't want to wait 30 minutes for it to be sterilised in the bucket. Also then you can use the microwave one for travel.

This is how we did it back in the dim and distant past
It’s rally easy, you just add the tablets to cold water and after 20 minutes it’s sterile
We use this method in the nursery I work in as it’s fool proof
You don’t need any other equipment except maybe a bottle brush for cleaning the bottles before sterilising
