Reflux/allergy/colic/something else?

Hi, my little girl isn’t really gaining weight (will fall off the 9th centile soon having already dropped from 25th) and I’m wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone; any and all advice desperately appreciated! She’s been exclusively breastfeed since about 3 weeks after combination feeding before that.

  • crying and thrashing and pulling legs up after feeding AND whenever put on her back (if we keep her upright after feeding she still does it)
  • spitting up after feeding but also significant period afterwards (basically anytime she’s laid down)
  • wind/hard tummy - seems bloated and does NOT like tummy massage 😂 bicycle legs, hot baths etc all tried without luck,
  • not good at burping
  • sleeping trouble esp. overnight but generally writhes as soon as laid down, ‘catnaps’
  • hiccups multiple times a day
  • dirty nappies frequent but very small amounts, like liquid (seedy originally, now just liquid, picture from today attached)
  • straining to stool
  • generally often seems like tummy is sore and she’s in pain 😭
  • nappy rash pretty much constant even after creams etc
  • all symptoms worse after cluster feeding periods

Things tried without success: infacol, infant gaviscon, tummy massage, burping for longer, upright BF positions, keeping upright for at least half hour after each feed.

I cut dairy from my diet 2 weeks ago and would say the wind and hard tummy are much better but not much else!

Any thoughts or advice?!

Sounds like it could be CMPA. I’m not an expert but have you cut out soya too? Most babies who are allergic to dairy also react to soya.

Hopefully someone more experienced will come along and help more. Smile

Sounds a lot like my CMPA DD. You'll need to cut out soy too and give it all 6 weeks to leave both your and her bodies. Good luck
