My DS is 7 months has 4 teeth (top and bottom) and has occasionally bitten until today...today he has bitten me lots and lots and tonight I have had to abandon his bedtime feed as I'm crying in pain and he wont stop biting. He's not well- teeth and cold and really upset but he wont go to sleep without his night time feed so my DH is pacing with him to get him to bed and I am sitting here crying. He wont take a bottle and I desparately do not want to stop feeding but what do i do? Please help.

Gave calpol before and a teething ring before feed and just had feed without bite . What a relief, only one more feed to go today! Thanks for suggestions about others feeding- think you're right I could do with a break... will see what I can do. Thank you all xxx

Things have been a bit better today thanks for your tips and support, have persisted in stopping feeds and saying no etc and giving teethers etc and maybe he's learning I'm not for nibbling on... hope so! Either that or he's feeling better snot and teeth wise. All your experience and advice really got me through... thank you xxx

My dd has started refusing her bedtime feed -she wriggles, pulls my hair, bites and pulls off at the slightest sound. And yes, she has started night-waking again. So tonight I wnet back in after 20 mins, picked her up and sort of dream-fed her; she was drowsy but not asleep. She did quite well, no fighting, and settled afterwards. So hopefully will not wake later.

Ha ha ha ha ha what was I thinking?

HS...They are clearly a law unto themselves, I have no idea what he will do from one day to the next... sometimes sleeps through other times wakes 4 times!!! Biting seems to be a bit better. No hissy fits for last few nights and has only bitten towards end of feed so hopefully the phase is passing (hopefully haven't spoken too soon

Ow!

Hope your nipples less flayed than mine to night ...

TheJen - hope things are better now. My DD is 14m now and has been through a few pahases of this. We worked out it was teething and with a bit of training her not to bite she is better now. The colds don't help as they are struggling to breathe etc.

Stick with it! I had a poo morning today and like you was crying I was so tired but DP stepped in and was great (even though I was mean to him ) It's all forgotten now and she is my Angel again! - until 4am!

Hi guys, things here are much better- the phase has past I think hasn't bitten for a few days so must have been his teeth, he was up 5 times last night in a tis with himself... Anyway, crisis over for now on to the next one!!! Thanks- your nips are ok HS!
