7 month old mouthing finger foods issues

Hi my 7 month old has been mouthing everything since 4 months etc. And when 6 months was mouthing some finger foods and now she's 7.5 months and she's eating purées fine but she doesn't seem to be interested in mouthing foods. She just plays with them. She may have a taste sometimes then stops.

She moths toys all the time still and other objects. How is it she knows not to try with food????

Anyone else had this issue? Thanks

How do you decide when to give a purée and when to give the finger foods?

What are you giving as finger foods?

Hi @FTEngineerM

Thanks for your reply. I give her some finger foods with her purée meals. Like toast and those rice cakes and cucumber and steamed carrots.

Ah cool ok, we started with a mix of BLW and purée too. Sometimes (even now 😬) I have to mash a bit up and get it in his mouth so he can taste it. Then he starts picking it up and eating it.

If you mash some of the food with a fork and then feed them it would that help? Hopefully then them going ooo nice, I’ll have more 😂

Don’t get the purée out till a good 20mins after the finger foods 👍

Also make sure she is not super hungry when you offer them as her tolerance and patience will be low so she’ll just want the easy low effort purée x
