Can I rest both sides?

I have badly cracked nipples and thrush and have been resting my worst side and alternating bottles with the other side. Now my good side is getting really sore and the crack on there just isn't healing. What would happen if I rested both sides? I am nervous about just giving him a bottle and not letting him on the breast at all so I was hoping I could wait until one side was heal and then swap over but I think the crack on my bad side will take a long time to get better.

How old is your baby?
There's no reason why you can't rest both sides for a couple of days, though you may not want to rest for much longer than that.
You may find that your supply is a little reduced when you start feeding again, but as he feeds it will naturally increase to meet the demand.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having such problems.
Have you been using a few drops of breast milk on your nipples before and after each feed to help them heal?

I was but stopped when I got thrush as apparently it thrives in the milk. My LO is three weeks old. Feeding has been a complete nightmare from the word go - three weeks of pain and stress. I really want to breast feed but I am getting close to giving up
