Hey guys,

Do you still burp your baby if they fall asleep during feeding?

I find that it’s difficult to get my ebf baby to burp when he falls asleep during a feed.

No, I didn't.

Nope. Never any need to burp either of mine. I sometimes did it because I thought it was the done thing, but they were equally furious and sleep dodging fine without a burp.

@Hope54321 I did because mine was a very gassy baby and he’d get a sore belly otherwise. Occasionally he also woke up being sick if he hadn’t burped before being put back down. I didn’t wake him to burp though. Sit him on your knee, support his head and move his body in circles - gets the gas out of mine within about a minute and doesn’t wake him 😊

Yea, formula fed. Otherwise she makes extraordinary noises trying to get rid of it herself when I put her back to bed. It doesn’t wake her, though, she’s pretty far gone when in a milk coma Grin

Yes, my BF DD is very windy and will just grunt loudly for ages otherwise

I do but it often wakes him and he gets quite cranky about that and takes a while to resettle.

Says it's something about him being a 35 year old adult means his mum doesn't need to burp him anymore but I am the mother so I know best.
