Help! My 10 mo has yellow teeth

She only has 6 teeth, and the 2 top front teeth are yellow. She is breastfed, does not get any juice, formula or milk. I feed her small portions of cereal and fruit and other mashed solid foods. What do I do???? She does not sleep with a bottle, although I do breastfeed her in the evening before she goes to sleep. TIA

Silly question - do you clean her teeth? Does it look as if the yellow is plaque or just the colour of her teeth? Has she ever had anti-biotics, because I understand that they can stain the teeth sometimes.

I was going to say antibiotics too - tetracycline, to be specific. It doesn't have to be your dd who has taken them - if you took them in pregnancy they can cause yellow staining in your baby's teeth.

Thanks, MM and WWB. She's never had antibiotics, although I recently took some. I brushed her teeth w/ a kid's brush and non-fluoride gel, and guess what? All the yellow came off. I guess I should be brushing regularly. I had no idea. I'm just so happy that it's not something permanent. I guess it was plaque? Thanks again.

I'm glad it was nothing permanent! Yes, you should clean the teeth regularly as soon as they appear, I used to use a muslin square with a smear of children's toothpaste on it at first because it was easier to get into dd's mouth than a toothbrush.
