3rd baby - no engorgement?

For some background, I had terrible engorgement with my first child (didn’t breastfeed) & second child (did breastfeed but he had tongue tie which could be relevant, still got plenty of milk & bf into toddlerhood). With my second, my breasts were like bowling balls with nothing to latch onto so we used shields for a few days as he couldn’t latch, thankfully got rid of them as soon as we could.

My newborn was born Monday @ 5am and already has yellow poo nappies, he’s had 8 pooy nappies (also pood everywhere when he was born) so to me that’s a good sign he is getting a good amount of milk.

Latch is ok, bit painful on one side but nothing too bad.

My question is could my milk have come in with no engorgement or leaking? I can hear him swallowing loudly, my breasts are tender & definitely larger but not engorged ... strangely I haven’t leaked at all! This is really bizarre as I leaked like a tap last time round, it was everywhere constantly for a long time (weeks or even months!).

Could I have got really lucky 3rd time round or do I still need to wait for the dreaded engorgement? It’s was only day 2 when the milk possibly ‘came in’ so perhaps too early?

I’d love to hear any previous experiences, I’m hoping this is it Grin

If nappies are yellow and you can here swallowing it definitely sounds like your milk is in.
