Domperidone - recommended dose?

A sympathetic GP prescribed me some domperidone this morning after I gave her the info on its effects on lactation. Once again mumsnet comes up trumps, I'd followed a link on an old thread to a good article on this.

However, recommended dosage seems to vary depending on which website you read. What's the current thinking on dosage here on mumsnet?

My copy of the BNF says adult dose is 10-20mg 3-4 times daily, with a max dose of 80mg in 24hours. Any good?

domperidone is also available over the counter without a prescription.

Our hospital prescribes 10mg 3 times a day but the dose can be higher than that.

It isn't a substitute for feeding 2-3 hoursly or expressing at least 8 times in 24 hour period. It should only be used when the above hasn't worked.
