When did your baby drop milks feeds?

I'm currently breast feeding my 5.5 month old and will soon start weaning. I always thought I'd only breastfeed for 4 weeks so I'm really pleased I got to this point! Lately I feel like I'm ready for breastfeeding journey to end but this is purely down to the frequency of feeds and it all being on me (I got nothing through pumping!)

Question is, when did your baby start dropping feeds? I'm debating if I should just continue BF if it means that soon enough I'll be doing less feeds anyway

All babies are different but by 12 months I was feeding DS just in the morning and at bedtime.

Plus if you go to 12 months you can swap to cows milk and not have to try with formula at all.

It certainly changed just after 6 months with weaning-DD weaned very easily. About 8/9 months there was some further decrease, big change at 12 months. We’re still feeding now at 18 months (just 2-3 times a day) but it’s short.

Once they were enthusiastic about solid food (which for mine happened between 6 and 7 months) the feeds dropped way down. I stopped altogether around their first birthdays.

Just wanted to add that both of mine had a clear 2 week gap between stopping BFing and accepting Cow's milk so don't stress too much if they won't take an alternative, unless you are desperate to stop now.
