Engorged breast but formula feeding

Hi!
Had c section three days ago.
Breasts are now engorged but decided to formula feed. What do I do now?
Also, tempted to feed baby from breast as well, but haven't done this or learnt how, should I stop considering that and let it pass?
He's also got a tiny tongue tie which wasn't corrected in ward as I said I'd be formula feeding anyway.
What should I do?

Many people will say it’s one or other but if you want to try him on the breast and see how he goes do it. Don’t Feel pressure to force it Though 💐

Well your boobs don't know you want to FF Grin

I suppose it depends on why you wanted to FF. If you aren't that bothered, might as well give it a try. If it hurts because it does or because of the tongue tie, no harm done.

FWIW for millions of years we didn't 'learn' it, we just did it.

Skin to skin is still good, no harm in trying

If you do want to try, my tip would be make sure baby's nose is pointing up past the nipple and the chin is meeting the breast first when the mouth opens. This will promote a nice deep latch and minimise the pain/nipple trauma some women experience.

I ff my first and when my milk came in I literally just left it, did nothing and the milk dried up. I don't know how good advice this is though as I know mastitis and blockeges can form. But it worked for me.
