help! how do I prepare bottles for a wedding?

I am going to a wedding next weekend, and am worried about the best way to prepare bottles - can't do it in advance as the venue won't have a fridge - any advice?

take clean, sterilised bottles and cartons of ready made formula

or buy disposable bottles and cartons of formula

how old is baby?
get the little long life ready mad e boxes containning about 9 ounces of milk? and take along presterislied bottles.
or, take along steriilised bottles, milk powedr, and a flask or three containg bolied water and make up as you need.

or breastfeed. much simpler

baby will be 2 months. Unable to breastfeed as milk didn't come through. Thanks for advice

It was my sisters wedding recently and that's what i did. remember to take a small pair of scissors to open the darned things! They never open easily and if they do they spill everywhere!

i use tommee tipe bottles. as well as the bottle you can get an insert for formula storage and a thermal bag.

we just did this today on our trip to London (although we bf as well, whatever is convenient for the moment) boil water and put in bottles. fill storage inserts with required amounts. put in thermal bag. when required take out bottle open and put in formula. shake and feed.

DS was good with this today and I managed well with him in a carrier and on the train.

I'd fill your sterlised bottles with water as normal and take one of those tupperware like tubs with the correct amounts of formual already measured out. The water stays good in the bottles for up to 24 hours as long as you don't open them. Just open one bottle when needed, pour in powder from said tupperware thing (it has a spout that you twist round to the relevant compartment full of formula powder), give it a very very good shake and it's ready.

Yep - agree with the pre-measured powder thing, makes it much easier. Boots do one with 3 sections or some other do with 4.

Mine (bought quite a few years ago I must admit) was from Mothercare and had 6 sections in (sorry MinW, not deliberately trying a bit of oneupmanship ). I'm sure they must be fairly common place now.

There are new guidelines on making up formula. As powder is not sterile you MUST use water which has been boiled for no longer than 30 minutes so unless you have a way of re-boiling it (which is not recommended) I wouldn't take the water with me unless in a flask.

i always wanted one of those powder things which hold the right amount for a bottle.
never got one withds1 as always used the uht type packets. and breastfed younger dc.
but i still want one! [stomps foot emoticon}

I'll see if i can find one of my old ones in the loft pukkapatch (in my bag of stuff that I just can't seem to bring myself to throw away ). If i find one, you can have it as an early christmas present!

Have just read those guidelines and though I don't doubt they are scientifically sound, I'd like to know how anyone will make them work in the real world.

bit of luck pukkapatch as I couldn't find one anyway in my bag of goodies. I did find a rather delightful musical bib though and about 17 unused scratch mittens (why i would have kept those I have no idea!!)
