Hi,

So today, my 6month old was eating a pureed fruit pouch. Fully smooth, no bits. Halfway through he started gagging. After this he was gagging after every mouthful. He does not do this after drinking milk only when eating something more solid. I patted his back a few times and he was sick a tiny amount but is still doing the same thing. He burped once or twice but has not coughed. Although I wish he would. Even now, he keeps gagging seemingly on nothing. I cannot see anything in his mouth or throat. Not sure what to do. Or if there is actually something stuck in his throat or if he is just doing this for no apparent reason

It is just a normal reflex for babies who are beginning weaning. Carry on with the solids and it should decrease over time.

Maybe, I hope your right. Im just confused as to why he is still doing it nearly two hours later. Hopefully it’s nothing 🤞🏽

Could he be refluxy from the puree? Either way if you're worried get him checked by 111. He's only little so best to be sure.

Im not sure. He has had this puree many times before and I have never seen him do this with it before. Maybe I will get it checked or wait until his next feed and give him something different. And see what he does with it
