Tommee Tippee Prep Machine

Quick question about the prep machine...

I live in a very hard water area and find that my kettle gets covered in limescale very quickly and any drinks that I make have a slight film on them. It doesn't bother me and DP, but it's not something we want to give our baby. I've read that you can't use bottled water to make up formula because of the sodium in it, but if it was boiled first or put in the machine to boil will it be okay to use?
I worry that if I use tap water in the machine then I will be changing the filter every week which would get expensive.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Boiling it doesn't make the water less salty or less hard. Maybe filter the water then boil it?

That's a good point, thanks I'll try that. Smile
