I thought it was day 3.

dd2 is now 3 days ld and i have just had a totally sleepless night. Tried to feed her but nothing there. this has gone on all night and as it was a saturday i couldnt send dh anywhere for emergency supplies to keep us going.

Am at wits end. I can't remember when it came in with dd1 but I think it was longer than 3 days. Lost a lot of blood in labour, had 2 transfusions. don't actually know if i have any colostrum as i have failed to get any out.

Shall i send dh to shop this morning just to feed her till my milk comes in

Thanks for the support - and sorry pixie for gatecrashing!!!

Swyn is a lovely name.
I know only two people called Swyn and they are both lovely.

no probs Jarm. i too remember when you only had jessica

moony- she's been a hv for eons but has only recently moved to dref.

Another bad night. Dh gave her formula at 1am which she guzzled but was then awake an hour later and has been awake pretty much on and off all night. have come downstairs as dd1 is being badly disturbed by it

Oh bugger (must have been bad, look at the time you posted.)

Pixie you are a proficient and longterm bfeeder. Have faith in your body. Just allow her cla mand unfettered access to the breast. I think you know that adding formula to the equation is not the answer if you want to establish successful breastfeeding.

Let us know how you get on.

just to update and as a reference for future.
my milk came in day 6 and dd2 is sleeping a lot better now.

Thank all of you for your help. That first morning I was desperate and also- even though i had done it all before and my milk was slow coming in first time as well- i did need the reassurance
