A query about antibodies in BM

So we all have a stinking cold, DD2 (3.5 weeks) included. I expressed some milk for her earlier this avo and DH gave it to her. She didn't take much so DH left the bottle on the table, and DD1 (21ish months, stopped feeding at 13) promptly nicked it and drank the lot!

So my question is, will the antibodies in my BM have any effect on DD1? It is the same cold we all have so surely it will help her fight it?

I think it applies to mostly or exclusively bf babies...
well my 5yr old dd nicked a few oz I'd expressed (inot one of ehr cups) and it did not stop her from getting the tummy bug
But ds2 the fully bf one never got it

Hmm, maybe not then, DD1 actually got it first and passed it to the rest of us. Am most pissed off that DD2 has it, I have no idea what to do with a snotty newborn, poor thing, she's so miserable
