I do actually think it's fine for people to feel this way. I mean, whatever, it's five people who mind people bf in public. Big whoop.

I don't think they should be made to stop talking this way, they can talk this way all they like. Obviously I have the right to argue with them if they pick a fight with me, but whatever.

LittleBellaLugosi · 31/10/2007 11:08

Is there any point in sending them messages along the lines of "love, look away and carry on with your petty business", or will I just get into a premature argument with a teenager?

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 11:08

Oh god, if people have a real issue with people bfing, is it really fair to upload pics of people bfing to their group? It's their weirdo group, leave them to it.

bealcain · 31/10/2007 11:09

cocney i thik yes we should and i have! they need to explain their reasons for it!

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 11:10

They don't like seeing it. That's their choice. They're allowed to not like seeing it, much like some people don't like seeing snakes or spiders or whatever. Obviously they should look away, obviously their views don't make bf in public wrong, but they're allowed to feel the way they feel.

Piffle · 31/10/2007 11:11

it is ok for them to feel that way
it is not ok to be able to stop a woman from bf in public...
leave them to it

pixie04 · 31/10/2007 11:29

Have reported. Stupid bloody kids. I wonder if any of them have had children or were breastfed.

Lorayn · 31/10/2007 11:34

I reported it, but it is all too common a view

scarylittlecarrot · 31/10/2007 11:43

Sort of what Piffle said, but...

It is OK for them to feel that way
It is OK for them to have their dozy little club

but

since facebook professes to have a code of conduct for it's members that precludes making defamatory or demeaning statements about any person or group

...It is not OK for facebook to host their little club

so I reported it too. Just doing my good citizen of facebook duty.

slim22 · 31/10/2007 11:48

silliest thread of the week...

scarylittlecarrot · 31/10/2007 12:01

It took me about as long to press "report group" on facebook as it probably took you to post on this thread, Slim. And that's about the limits of my investment of effort with the silliness of this daft group of teens. However, the viral networking nature of facebook means that the unlikeliest of groups can grow exponentially, so probably better that facebook dissuades it's members from this kind of thing when they are small groups, don't you think?

Especially when facebook members agree to a code of conduct as part of the terms?

Lorayn · 31/10/2007 12:05

Facebook does say that groups cannot attack individuals or groups, and this group is attacking breastfeeding mothers, so they should listen.
I mentioned the recc's by healthcare professionals re:b/fing and the growing uneasiness for new mothers to be able to feed their baby out of doors.
This group even says they cant bear it when its covered up
I can understand some people not wanting to see boobs but that is their own issue, as for when it's covered up, how anyone can have a problem with that I just don't understand.

nappyaddict · 31/10/2007 16:12

if it was kids who didn't know any better i could sort of understand but they are grown women and that is just unforgivable.

jumpyjan · 31/10/2007 16:23

have reported it too

MrsLynetteScavo · 31/10/2007 19:30

So is there actually a name for breast feeding phobia?

Lorayn · 31/10/2007 19:41

I cant find one, I have however asked a supposedly knowledgable person on the matter and shall let you know if they reply. W hat is lactate in greek? it's probably something like that.

theUrbanDevil · 31/10/2007 23:16

ooh ooh i joined!! and i posted an awesome pic of ds feeding when he was only a tiny wee thing...

twinkle5 · 01/11/2007 11:07

I have also added a picture of me feeding ds on a beach

Nettee · 01/11/2007 16:56

there are at least 30,000 members of the breast feeding is not obscene group so that one is doing better.

MrsLynetteScavo · 01/11/2007 18:01

I've joined the BF is not obscene group.

CountessDracula · 01/11/2007 18:10
